Wondering what an Obstructed Ocean View Stateroom looks like on board the P&O Pacific Adventure Cruise Ship. Here is Room 8625 which we stayed in recently.
Note: We knew we were getting an obstructed room but did not know how obstructed it would be until we were onboard. We were hoping for a partial ocean view but were unlucky enough to get one of only 6 completely obstructed rooms. Totally obstructed rooms are 8520, 8521,8611,8612, 8624 and 8625.
The rooms on either side of those can see a little bit of ocean between the tender boats. Rooms on either side of that again have better views between the tender boats.
Rooms that are obstructed by Lifeboats (not Tender boats) can see some ocean over the top of the lifeboats.
The totally obstructed rooms are quite dark as well. When the Tender boats are off the ship, the room is nice and bright with a great view, however, you will probably not get to enjoy it for long if you are going ashore on the Tender boats. The other downside is that after the Tenderboats come back, a number of crew members clean and work on them which results in a loss of privacy while that occurs.
We can't complain as we knew we were getting an obstructed room but we were hoping for less obstructed than what we got. Next time we will pay the extra money to get an unobstructed Ocean View Room or a Balcony Room.
Hopefully watching this video may help others be better informed if they are thinking of booking one of these rooms. If you are happy with an internal room then the obstructed rooms might be fine for you.
Note: The P&O Pacific Adventure will be rebadged in March 2025 as the Carnival Adventure when Carnival absorbs P&O.
